AAPAKARI NOTES

Privacy notice

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Aapakari Notes is a weekly email by Aapakari (@aapakari on X). This notice explains what happens to your data when you join.

Who is responsible

Aapakari, hello@aapakari.org. I decide what happens to the list. Write to me about anything in this notice.

What I collect

Your email address, which you type on the signup page. Nothing else is asked for.

Kit, the service that holds the list and sends the emails, also records when you signed up and when you confirmed; which page and link brought you to the signup page, for example the link in my X bio; whether you opened each email and which links you clicked; and technical data it may collect, such as your IP address, approximate location, browser and device. Kit's signup page may also set a cookie to remember that you have signed up.

Why

To send you the Agent Checklists pack you asked for, and Aapakari Notes: one email a week, on Thursday. To see which links bring people in and which parts of the email get read, so I can make it better.

The legal basis is your consent. You give it by confirming your email address (double opt-in), and you can take it back any time by unsubscribing. If you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, Kit then asks you on a separate page whether you agree to get the emails. If you sign up but never confirm, Kit keeps the address marked unconfirmed and you get nothing beyond the one confirmation email; ask me and I delete it.

Who else handles it

Kit, Inc. (kit.com) stores the list and sends the emails for me. It acts as my processor under its Data Processing Addendum: https://kit.com/dpa. Kit's own privacy policy is at https://kit.com/privacy. That policy covers Kit's customers; how Kit handles subscriber data is set by the Data Processing Addendum.

Kit may process the data in the United States. Transfers from the EU are covered by Kit's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in the Data Processing Addendum. The companies Kit itself uses are listed in that addendum.

I do not sell your address, share it with anyone else or use it for ads. It stays in Kit: I do not copy it into other tools.

How long I keep it

Until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. After you unsubscribe, Kit keeps your address marked as unsubscribed, so you are not added again by mistake. If you want it removed completely, ask me to delete it.

How to leave

Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.

How to ask for a copy, a correction or deletion

Email hello@aapakari.org from the address you subscribed with and say what you want: a copy of your data, a correction, deletion, or a limit on how it is used. For deletion, I delete you in Kit and ask Kit to delete its copy too. I will answer within one month.

Complaints

If you think I have handled your data wrongly, please tell me first. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes. If a change matters to you, I will say so in the next email.
